Version 1.0.17

Coming soon

Coming in version 1.0.17. This update is not yet available in the Microsoft Store.

Introducing Compound Clips

Group several clips into one. Move it, resize it, fade it and reuse it as a single piece, while every clip inside stays fully editable.

01 · Select your clips 02 · Make Compound Clip 03 · Use it as one

Many clips, one piece

  • Group anything. Videos, photos, text, captions, stickers and sound, on one track or several. Select them, right-click and choose Make Compound Clip. Detached audio, captions and the transitions between your clips come along automatically.
  • Edit inside at any time. Double-click a compound clip to open it. Change what you like, then press Save & Close.
  • Use it like any video. Move, resize, crop, change speed or colour, animate it with keyframes or add a transition, and everything inside follows.
  • See-through or solid. Keep the background transparent and empty areas show the canvas and clips underneath: put a cut-out person, a title and an animated arrow together and place the whole group over any video. Or fill it with a colour of your choice.
  • Its own sound controls. Set a volume and fade the sound in and out for the whole group at once.
  • Changed your mind? Break Apart puts every clip back on the timeline, exactly where it played.

Make it once, use it everywhere

  • Linked copies. Every compound clip is also kept in your Media Box. Drag it onto the timeline again and again: edit one copy and all copies update, while each keeps its own position, size and effects.
  • Templates for all your projects. Save an intro, a lower third or a logo animation as a template and add it to any project from Media Box › Compound Templates.
  • Exports at full quality. Compound clips are rendered at your export size and frame rate, from 720p to 4K at 30 or 60 fps.

New: Preview Intro

Open your video with a short teaser of what is coming. Right-click a clip and choose Create Preview Intro.

  • A mosaic of your best moments. Pick 2 to 9 clips from your timeline and they play side by side in an animated grid.
  • Fine-tune every tile. Choose where each clip starts, adjust its framing and change the order.
  • A smooth way in. Set the length from 2 to 10 seconds and let the first clip grow to fill the whole screen, leading straight into your video.
  • Ready in one click. Play the preview, then Use intro. It is added at the start and fits your project’s shape. Change it any time with Edit Preview Intro.

Also new

  • Text behind a person, original background kept. The new Remove BG option Original (keep) leaves the background exactly as filmed, so a title can sit between the background and the person in front of it, with just one clip.
  • New guides. Press F1 for step-by-step help on Compound Clips and on text behind a person.

Fixes

  • The time shown under the preview now always matches the playhead on the timeline.

Version 1.0.16

Available now

Version 1.0.16 is available now in the Microsoft Store.

Introducing the new Travel Map

Turn your trips into animated maps. Pick a map, click your stops, choose how you travel between them, and Vivideo Studio draws the journey for you, ready to drop into your video.

01 · Pick a map 02 · Add your stops 03 · Watch it travel

Beautiful maps, built in

  • Eight ready-made maps. World, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia, North America, South America and Australia & Oceania. They are free, work offline and open instantly.
  • Four looks. Dark, Light, Vintage paper and Satellite.
  • Country and city names. Show countries, add major cities, or keep the map clean. Names never overlap your stops and stay sharp at any size.
  • A real globe. On the World map your journey plays on a 3D Earth that turns to follow you, with a starry sky and a soft glow around the planet.
  • Street maps too. Need more detail? Search for any city or address, zoom with the mouse wheel and use an online street map from OpenStreetMap. You can also import your own map image.

Travel your way

  • Car, plane, train, ferry or a simple dot. Detailed markers with soft shadows. Planes climb during the flight and ferries rock on the water.
  • A different way for every leg. Drive to the airport, fly to Rome, take the train to Florence. Choose how you arrive at each stop; new stops keep your last choice.
  • Matching trails. Roads for cars, dashed lines for flights, rails for trains and dotted sea routes for ferries, or choose the style yourself for each leg.
  • Smooth, cinematic movement. The marker speeds up and slows down at each stop, the camera glides along and can zoom out to show the whole trip at the start and end. Pins pop in and stop names fade in as you arrive.

Mark the places that matter

  • Map pins. Mark a landmark, a fuel stop, your hotel or a favourite café along the way. Your journey passes them without stopping.
  • 15 icons and 8 colours. Landmark, gas station, restaurant, café, hotel, viewpoint, beach, mountain, airport and more, each with your own label such as “Eiffel Tower”.
  • Your own photos. Turn any pin into a round photo pin with a picture from your trip.
  • Perfect timing. Pins pop up with a little bounce as your marker passes by, or stay on the map from the start.

Made for your project

  • The map clip matches your project’s shape (16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:5 and 21:9) and can be created in 720p, 1080p, 1440p or 4K at 30 or 60 fps.
  • Undo and redo (Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y) while you build your route.
  • Each project keeps its own maps and routes.
  • In the free version, Travel Map clips carry the same small watermark as other exports. Premium removes it, and because your routes are saved you can create clean versions of earlier clips.

Also new

  • Rate, share and send feedback right from the start screen or the About window. Enjoying Vivideo Studio? Rate it in the Microsoft Store or share it with a friend. Something not right? Tell us directly.
  • Clear pricing. The Premium upgrade window now shows the price before you buy.

Fixes

  • Items removed from the Media Box no longer come back the next time you open the project.

Version 1.0.15

Available now

Version 1.0.15 is available now in the Microsoft Store.

The built-in screen recorder

Capture a tutorial, show off your workflow or record your next demo, then bring it straight into your project.

A recording studio, one button away

Open Record screen from the Media Box. The recorder opens in its own window, giving you room to set up your shot and capture what matters.

  • Your frame. Your rules. Capture the entire display, choose a preset such as 1920 × 1080, or draw a custom region. Move and resize the frame, check its actual dimensions and hit Record when you are ready.
  • Put yourself in the picture. Add a webcam overlay and move it freely to the spot that works for your recording.
  • Let your audience hear the whole story. Record system sound, your microphone, or both when those audio devices are available.
  • Make every click count. Highlight your mouse with a red or yellow circle and adjustable transparency so viewers can follow your actions.
  • Record at your pace. Pause and resume with the recording controls. When you stop, watch your video in the built-in player before bringing it into your edit.
  • Need a still instead? Switch to Photo to capture a screenshot for your project.

Captured. Saved. In your project.

Click Edit with Vivideo Studio to add your recording or screenshot to your open project’s Media Box, ready to use. Your capture stays saved on your PC, and Save as lets you keep an extra copy wherever you choose.

The recorder remembers your preferences for next time, all in a dark interface that feels at home in Vivideo Studio.

Version 1.0.14

Available now

Version 1.0.14 is available now in the Microsoft Store.

New features

  • 1440p QHD and 4K Ultra HD export. Export sharper videos for YouTube and large screens. Text, captions, outlines, intros, stickers and tracking labels keep the same proportions as at 1080p, just sharper.
  • Drag and drop from Windows Explorer. Drag videos, images and audio straight into the Media Box, several files at once.

Auto Subtitles improvements

  • Subtitles now stay in sync on sped-up and slow-motion clips.
  • Subtitles, including translations, now stay attached to their clip when you rearrange clips on the timeline.

Timeline improvements

  • Rearranging clips works better: moving a clip only shifts the clips in between, and gaps and clips further along stay where they are.
  • Trimmed and split clips now show the right preview frames on the timeline.
  • The time ruler now covers the full length of long projects.

Fixes

  • Pictures placed on an upper track (picture-in-picture) now show in the preview right away.
  • The built-in music tracks were removed to avoid copyright claims on YouTube. Add your own music anytime; sound effects are still included.
