The short version

Vivideo Studio is a desktop application. Your projects, video files, audio and exported results stay on your own computer. Editing, speech transcription and AI background removal all run locally on your machine — your footage is not uploaded to us for any of them.

What stays on your computer

• Your media. Imported video, photos and audio are read from where you stored them. We never copy them anywhere.
• Your projects. Project files, auto-saves, presets, favourites and saved templates are written to your own disk.
• Speech transcription. Auto Subtitles runs a speech-recognition model on your machine. The audio is not sent anywhere.
• AI background removal. The MODNet and RVM models run locally on your machine.
• Exports. Rendering and encoding happen on your computer, using your CPU and GPU.

When the app does use the internet

There is one feature that sends text off your machine, and it only runs when you choose it:

• Subtitle translation. If you use Translate Subtitles, the caption text — and only that text — is sent to a third-party translation service (MyMemory) to be translated, and the translation is sent back. Your video and audio are never sent. If you would rather no text left your machine, do not use this feature. That service has its own privacy terms, which apply to text you send through it.

The application also checks your licence and any purchases through the Microsoft Store. Payment is handled by Microsoft; we never see or store your payment details.

What we collect

Children

Vivideo Studio is a general-purpose creative tool and is not directed at children.
